Startups Repo is an African startup discovery platform operated by Nick Kioko ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Nairobi, Kenya. The platform allows founders to list their startups and allows visitors to discover, search, and explore African startups.
By accessing or using Startups Repo ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You may use the Platform if you are at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding agreement. By using the Platform you represent that this is true.
There are two types of users:
To list a startup you must create an account using Google sign-in or a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when listing your startup and to update that information when it changes.
We reserve the right to suspend or remove any account that violates these Terms.
By submitting a startup listing you represent and warrant that:
We review all submissions before they go live. We reserve the right to reject, remove, or modify any listing at our sole discretion without notice or explanation.
By submitting content to the Platform — including your startup name, description, story, traction data, and any other information — you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Platform and in our content, including but not limited to social media posts, newsletters, and video content.
You retain ownership of your content. You can remove your listing at any time by contacting us.
You agree not to submit content that:
All content created by us — including the platform design, scripts, editorial content, and any AI-generated material — is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without our written permission.
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, including startup websites submitted by founders. We do not endorse or take responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Use them at your own risk.
Nothing on the Platform constitutes investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to invest in any startup. Startups Repo is a discovery tool only. Always conduct your own due diligence before making any investment decision.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not verify the accuracy of any founder-submitted information beyond our standard review process.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered founders of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
