startupsrepo is a public directory of African startups. Some listings are created by founders themselves; others are seeded by our editorial team from publicly available sources so the directory is useful from day one.
Company facts only: the company name, what it does in one sentence, its sector, stage, city and country, website, and publicly announced funding rounds. Every seeded listing records the public source it came from.
No personal data is seeded. We do not collect founder names, photos, personal email addresses, or personal social media accounts for unclaimed listings. Team information appears on a profile only after the founder claims it and adds it themselves. Where we hold a contact address for a company, it is a generic one (hello@, info@) and is never displayed publicly.
When we prepare a seeded listing, we contact the company first with exactly what the listing says, where the information came from, and a go-live date at least seven days out — along with a claim link and a removal link.

Every seeded listing has a “Remove this listing” link on its profile page. Removal requires no justification and no account: the listing is hidden immediately, permanently deleted within seven days, and blocked from ever being re-listed.
